Winston-Salem, NC – Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Salem Automation (“Salem”) is a leading provider of IT infrastructure services and industrial automation solutions. Salem’s offerings span OpenVMS engineering, database administration, legacy modernization, and automation services, serving customers across manufacturing, aerospace & defense, energy, and other U.S. industrial sectors. Based in Winston-Salem, NC, Salem partners with customers on-site to manage, migrate, and modernize their most critical IT infrastructure.
“There is a tidal wave of investment in re-shoring U.S. manufacturing. While this creates massive opportunities for industrial companies, it also creates new challenges for managing, migrating, and modernizing mission-critical IT systems,” said Graeme Hewett, Co-Founder & CEO at ITSA. “Salem Automation is purpose-built to solve these problems with a full suite of end-to-end services. We are honored to acquire this business from Todd Nichols and Tim Cochrane and look forward to investing in Salem’s team to support their continued growth.”
“I think I knew Graeme and Nadim were the perfect guys to take over our business the first time I met them in our online meeting. They had the right vision, the right attitude towards our employees and our customers, and the energy to continue our business for the next 33 years. They are very talented young guys with great attitudes and energy. They were incredibly easy to work with during the buyout and transition, and I wish them great success with our business in the future.” Todd Nichols – Co-Founder, Salem Automation
Post-acquisition, ITSA will retain all Salem employees and enroll them in its broad-based employee ownership plan. Tim Cochrane will remain with Salem to support solution architecture and customer success, ensuring continuity for clients and employees.
